WAIT FOREVER

Words by Seth Christenfeld

Music by Sean Havrilla

Ever have one of those nights? Peter is having one of those nights. Now he's waiting on a subway platform for a train that shows no sign of showing up, his only company a violinist who shows no sign of shutting up. Peter just wants to get home and Alice--when she arrives--just wants to get something right for once. But as the sage once sang, "you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need."

Wait Forever is a magical realist musical about two lost souls and the force that brings them together--it's a little bit Beckett and a little bit Chekhov and a little bit Steve Reich and a little bit of a lot of other things, too.  It runs just short of twenty minutes.

Wait Forever was conceived and developed at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. It received a reading there on May 23rd, 2013. The director was Rob Heller, the music director was someone I no longer wish to think about, and the cast was as follows:

Peter: Sevan Greene

The Man With the Violin: Alexander Gemignani

Alice: Margo Seibert
